Top 5 News Sources

 https://news.google.com/home?hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en

Google News is a great source of news because it allows you to compare different sources. In and of itself all sources are biased and the only way to get an entire story is to read multiple sources of information. Google News makes it easy to do cross-resource research allowing you to find multiple interpretations of the same subject. If you looked up Donald Trump on 1/16/23 you will find MSNBC and Fox News articles on the same subject right next to each other. They are widely known to be opposing sources of information. Then the responsibility falls back on the reader to assess both sources and then make a judgment.

This is a source that I find to be very unbiased. it has mostly statements of fact and does not seem to have a strong bias in one way or another.  The majority of the articles are statements, quotes, and descriptions that give a mostly objective opinion. They additionally quote studies well. Making a point to say where there might be discrepancies like a lack of difference between civillian and combatant. The data they share seems to be fairly logical and straightforward. Overall while all sources have some bias they seem to acknowledge and account for it.

I have used their stats in many of my reports. They are very reliable and do mostly statistical work. They are widely seen as a source of unbiased information that serves the public. They are reported from a statistical point of view meaning you will get research and stories you would not have seen otherwise. The conclusion and data they have are not designed to bait you they use them to state very clearly what the article is while still trying to draw you in.

This particular source tends to be a bit more sensational than other sources on my list. They attempt to present a balanced view despite what the name might indicate. They do publish some religious articles but it is not a mainstay. Ultimately they take a more global view which also eliminates the bias that is commonly found in domestic journalism. This is a source I found for just this blog post so I don't know much more about them but I found them interesting.

I like that they give the exact words of public testimonies and public officials because many source when they don't report honestly or have an agenda will cut things together to make what their politicians say seem softer or harsher based on audience reactions. It is important to understand the facts and then you can look at the expert interpretation. C-Span has a lot of primary sources but the major red flag with them is that they have exclusive rights with the government and I am fairly certain that could cause some conflicts of interest. It also could cause them to be bullied into agreeing to things that don't align with there values.
